Your subscription to the London Review of Books includes unlimited access to the LRB website, where you’ll find everything we’ve published since 1979. You can also read the LRB Blog, listen to podcasts, watch videos, sign up for email newsletters and download the LRB app.
Why do I have to create an online account?Subscribing to the London Review of Books magazine and creating your online account are separate actions. In order to have uninterrupted access online you need to create an account and link your magazine Subscription Number to it. Or, if you already have an online account, simply link your magazine subscription to your existing account.By linking your magazine subscription and your online account, you will enjoy unlimited access to everything that lrb.co.uk and the LRB app have to offer.How do I create an LRB online account?To create your online account simply visit this page and complete the form, or use the 'Sign in' option in the top right-hand corner of lrb.co.uk and follow the link on the pop-up for ‘Don’t have an account?’.We recommend you use the same email address you used when you purchased your subscription.If you are unsure which email address to use, check your inbox(es) for emails from ‘London Review of Books’ or ‘help@mylrb.co.uk’ to determine which email address should be used.Your password must be at least 8 characters long, contain a mixture of uppercase and lowercase letters, and include at least one number or symbol?If you still need help you can follow the steps shown in the video below:
How do I find my subscription number?Your ten-digit London Review of Books Subscription Number, which starts 400, can be found on your subscription confirmation email ‘Welcome to the London Review of Books’, on correspondence from us, and above your name and address on the wrap or label that your copy of the magazine arrives in.
If you have not received your subscription number yet you can also use the six-digit Order Number from your order confirmation email.
If you cannot find your order confirmation emails please check your spam or junk folders.
Downloading the LRB app
Now that you’ve set up your online account you are ready to download the London Review of Books app to your chosen device.
To access the LRB app you do need to have created your online account as detailed above, you cannot create an account from within the app itself.
Download the app from the App Store for Apple devices, Google Play Store for Android or Amazon App Store for Kindle Fire.
Once it’s installed you can sign in using the email address and password you created when you set up your online account. Tap ‘settings’ in the bottom right-hand corner and select ‘Sign In’.
In the app you can search and download all issues from June 2014 onwards, bookmark your favourite articles and change the text size and reading mode to create the perfect reading experience for you.
We recommend always using the latest version of the operating system available for your phone or tablet. The LRB app is compatible with most devices using Android OS 8 or above and iOS 16 or above.
New issues are available in the app the day after they are published on our website. If you have notifications turned on in your device settings you will receive a notification when the new issue is available in the app.
Whether or not you choose to download the app you will receive a ‘New Issue’ email to let you know what’s in the latest issue of the magazine as soon as it is available on our website. You can sign up for it - and manage your other newsletter preferences - here.
