Johnson’s House

The hopeless, who had
Nowhere else to go, he packed
Into his house. So

Loneliness took on
The look of home, duty grew
Useful, like tea-cups.

They go like lightning
Over jumps, under tunnels,
Up slides and down, then

(Best of all) needle-
Thread small transverse hoops as if
Freed of being dogs.
